The honest comparison

Why not just use ChatGPT?

You can, and it can be good at explaining things. It just doesn't know the Irish system. Ask it for a past question and it will write you a convincing one that was never on any exam, then guess at what earns the marks. That is the whole difference.

A general chatbot

  • Invents "past questions" that were never on a paper
  • Guesses at how marks are split, with no scheme to check against
  • Hands over a finished answer before you have tried it
  • No idea what the Irish course actually wants from you

ExamAI

  • Pulls the real question text out of the real paper
  • Marks your attempt against the official SEC scheme, scales and all
  • Teaches you rather than just giving you the answer
  • Knows that you are studying for the Irish system

What it does

A tutor for all your study, not just the paper

Over 5,000 past questions, each matched to its official marking scheme. That corpus is why it is good at the everyday stuff too.

There whenever suits you

On a Sunday, the free class before the test, the week before the mocks. No booking, no waiting.

Marks it like the examiner

Write out your attempt and it grades it against the real scheme, including the partial credit and the notes that quietly cap your marks.

Helps with any homework

Essay plans, an experiment write up, a poem you cannot get a handle on, a maths question from the textbook. Every subject, all year.

Knows every past paper

Ask for 2019 Paper 2 Question 5 and it pulls the actual question in the main written subjects, not an imitation. It never makes up an exam question.

For parents

Will it just do the work for them?

No, and that was the first thing we designed around. ExamAI asks what they have tried, and works forward from where they got stuck.

The result is the opposite of copy and paste. It's learning, made personal.

FAQ

Straight answers

What exactly is in the corpus?
Real Leaving Cert past papers and the official State Examinations Commission marking schemes from 2015 to 2025, Higher and Ordinary level. Over 5,200 questions, each one matched to its marking scheme entry. The free Past Paper Finder goes further back again, to 2007, and covers the Junior Cert too.
Is it only for past paper practice?
No. It is a tutor first. Use it for homework, for a topic that made no sense in class, for planning an essay, for checking your understanding in fifth year. The papers are what make it accurate about the Irish course, not a limit on what you can ask.
Which subjects does it cover?
The tutor helps with every subject. The past paper corpus it can quote and mark from covers the main written subjects at both levels, and it grows as more papers are added.
Can it get things wrong?
It can. It is an AI. The difference is that it quotes the source, so when it marks your work you can see the year, paper and question and check the scheme yourself. Every one of those PDFs is free on this site.
What happens after the free trial?
Nothing, unless you choose to pay. There is no card taken at sign up, so the trial cannot roll into a charge. If you want to keep going it is €10 a month or €60 once for the year.
Is the €60 year pass a subscription?
No. It is one payment for the full year. When the year is up it ends by itself. It never renews and you are never charged again.
How do I get help?
Email [email protected]. It goes straight to the person who built ExamAI, so you get a real answer.
